VISION-MISSION OF THE ARCHDIOCESE OF CACERES

The Archdiocese of Caceres has one common pastoral direction and goal expressed in the following Vision-Mission Statement

OUR PEOPLE. First evangelized in 1578, we are a people deeply grateful for the gift of faith, striving to promote our identity and rightful well being in spite of existing material poverty and deprivations. We are a Church of the Young, seen especially in youthful vocations to be members of the apostolic laity, consecrated religious and the ordained clergy under the tutelage of Mary, Our Lady of Penafrancia

OUR MISSION. To be a Church of the Poor. We are called to a Christian life of a spiritual journey toward the Kingdom of God, a religious concern for a new life of the Church, a pastoral care for the whole of society and, a building up of communion as a Church through empowerment and solidarity of preferential love for and by the poor themselves.

OUR VISION. To become a Renewed Church, a Community of Disciples of the Lord. We seek the faith of the Church that is contextual, Christ-centered, pastoral and evangelical. This we share as a challenge and covenant with the entire Church in the Philippines through the II Plenary Council of the Philippines and among our own people through the Archdiocesan Pastoral Council of Caceres.

OUR MINISTRY. Integral Evangelization. We are to build up an ecclesial communion through inculturation of Filipino values with the Gospel; effectively, a personal liberation and a social transformation as well. We are to renew our Christian communities through dialogue and solidarity, serving in a missionary spirit marked by participation and accountability.

ARCHDIOCESAN PASTORAL PLAN OF CACERES

Description

The Archdiocesan Pastoral Plan of Caceres (APPC) is an over-arching framework for ministry in the Archdiocese to guide the situation and strengthening of existing forms of ministry as well as to determine the direction of other emerging pastoral initiatives. It is a means to determine the organization and coordination of pastoral structures on the Archdiocesan and parochial levels of involvement; an aid to determine resource requirements and their effective management for purposes of the apostolate.

Elements

1. The APPC is a reflection of the decrees of the Archdiocesan Pastoral Council of Caceres (APCC) in accordance with the Church envisioned by the II Plenary Council of the Philippines (PCP II); as such it has three main agenda for implementation:
1.1. Spiritual Journey. A contextual spiritual journey toward the Kingdom of God through the inculturation of Filipino values with the Gospel; one that lends itself to greater participation and leads to a deeper spirituality of persons and communities, therefore;
1.2. Socio-Pastoral Care. A Christ-cen-tered personal liberation and transformation of the whole of society by the Church;
1.3. Empowerment and Governance. A building up of communion as a Church in the renewal of Christian communities through dialogue and solidarity of a preferential love of  and by the poor themselves; a missionary spirit among agents, therefore, marked by communal participation and accountability.

2. The APPC is primarily for the constant improvement of the care for souls;

3. It is to be observed with a certain permanence, immediately binding upon promulgation until such time its revision is deemed proper, precluding interruptions even through changes in offices and assignments of persons

4. It is to be implemented in a manner flexible enough to adjust to ever changing conditions, differing localities and opportune initiatives

1

Organization

1. The Archbishop is the primary author, promoter and sponsor of pastoral renewal

3. It enjoins the fullest cooperation and coordination of all apostolic workers -- the laity, religious and the clergy at all levels of implementation

2. The APPC respects the three levels of "ecclesial realities" of the Archdiocesan/diocesan community with its different Commissions, Ministries and Offices, the vicarial/parish community and, their various Christian communities of faith

4. It directs resources for the apostolate, whether personnel or institutions, respecting their legitimate competencies, being brought together for the common good of the entire Archdiocese and the Church as a whole.
